V70 SE D5 2004/54 Rust Spot on Roof Panel

I have a rust spot developing on the rear of the roof panel.

My dealer says that it is from a 'stone chip' and not therefore covered by the Volvo Warranty (the car is only 2 years old)

Can anyone tell me if the roof panel is/should be galvanised? The car was sold to me as having a galvanised steel body with some composite sections. I was assured that I would not experience the rust problems that I had with my C- class Mercedes.

Is the dealer telling me the truth? I can't imagine how a stone could chip the paint so badly at the rear of the roof as to go through, not only the paint system, but the electrocoat also?

Does anyone have a similar experience please?
