A few hundred miles short of 199,000! I've had this as my daily driver for the last 7 years and it is my third Volvo. The past 2.5 years it has been commuting comfortably for 2 hours a day with avg mpg of 27. Now it has been replaced by a new Mazda
Interior is in very nice shape. Exterior has only a few minor scratches/dings(none from me!), no big dents or bodywork. No accidents and clean title. Has remote start, bluetooth, working tape deck and cd player! Heated front seats, auto dimming mirror, sunroof, auto rain sensing wipers, factory bi-xenon headlights, foglights, roof rack and cross rails, trunk cargo cover, IPD aluminum skid plate, Volvo rubber floor mats. No rips or cracking in the leather seats. Currently sitting on a new snow tire and rim package from tirerack with only one season on them, Borbet alloy wheels and Continental snows. Includes OEM alloys with Continental all seasons.
Service history:
All the service I have done by myself, with the help of my friend who is a former volvo tech, and an indy volvo specialist who worked with my friend. I've been changing the oil myself with Mann filters and castrol synthetic every 7000 miles and I just did it at 197,700. Timing belt, water pump, radiator hoses, serp belt, and idler pulley and tensioner done in the past few years with all OEM stuff from fcpeuro. New GKN axles up front, ball joints, sachs struts with the correct xc70 springs. IPD silicone intake and intercooler hoses, boost gauge and turbo control valve, external diverter, pcv kit. Cam seals were replaced a year ago. A/C clutch is shimmed and blows ice cold all summer. Original rotted out exhaust has been replaced with all stainless from the turbo back. O2 sensors are there and a high flow cat, sounds great. New battery installed in September. Rear struts and springs done a few years ago. Replaced one of the front calipers last year and pads and rotors are in good shape. There are probably more small things that I've forgotten. I don't care to look back at all my fcpeuro purchases
What it needs:
1. DEM just recently died so I have it unplugged and the car is running fine in FWD. If you plug it back in the canbus goes nuts and puts the car in limp mode. So no AWD since I don't feel like coughing up $650-900 for the DEM to be reworked by xemodex. I tested the pump and it still works. And yes, I did have the cover kit mounted over the DEM.
2. The power steering has a slow leak where the steering shaft goes into the steering rack. Doesn't leave marks in my parking spot (only on the skid plate) and I just keep topping off the reservoir once in a while. Fluid is cheaper than a rack. Self-cleaning haha! The leak was caused by a stuck steering coupler that has since been replaced.
3. P0442 code that I just keep clearing. New gas cap didn't make it go away and I suspect it is one of those hoses in a hard to reach place by the gas tank. Not a big deal, it's old enough that it doesn't have to pass emissions here.
The wagon still has life and is still nice to drive. Be the one to take it over 200k! Located in Boylston, MA.
