Will the larger 302mm brakes fit Perfo wheels

Post by Sveedy »

I am at the point where I want / need to upgrade my brakes to the larger 302mm, but I know that there are clearance issues with some / most 16" wheels.
I saw the write up on here about big brakes on small wheels, but the writer references Columbas, while the picture looks like Perfos.
So what fits what, and is grinding necessary ? And are some of the parts available from junkyard P2's ?

Edit: I finally found the pictures of Volvo wheels, and I do have Columbas, not Perfos on Sveedy. Pic in write-up is correct.

I'd guess no. The wheels are so similar in appearance and spec, I can't believe they'd be different enough to avoid the bracket modification reality.

Thought about doing this using spacers myself.
Note the comment about the regular space saver not fitting the fronts after wards.

Columba don't fit, Perfos do.
I've sold my Columbas so can't compare IRL where the difference is, maybe the shape of the barrel ?

Columba pictured here, my Perfos are out of reach on the top shelf under three layers of headliners

The more I think about, I'll just wait and get 17" rims regardless at this point. The clearance between caliper and inner wheel is a little too close for my comfort / environment. One little rock popping up in there, could ruin a wheel.

HARR!!

I love Columbas - the curved hub area reminds me of those shaped wooden WWI era propellers. The Perfo is a modernized, more anglular version of it.
