Trunk lid adjustment volvo s70

I have noticed that my trunk lid in my 1997 s70 is not centered correctly. I will take a picture later but for example:
As I am looking at the trunk from above the spaces between the lid and the fender are not equal. I have no problems opening and closing the trunk. Does anyone know if i can adjust the lid?

I don't know the answer but I sure would like to find out. I just replaced the dented trunk lid on my 1999 S70 with a junkyard unit, and the reamost portion of the lid nearest the window seems 'high'. It stands proud of the rear quarter panel next to the window on both sides of the car. I need to adjust that portion down somehow, but can't see how.

As to to-and-fro, so the body lines line up-- there are 4 12mm bolts holding the lid to the hinges, and there's a bit of play there. Once installed, I had to loosen the bolts and wiggle the lid until the thing lined up side-to-side. Tightened the bolts, done. That part was easy.

When you fitted the trunk lid, did you disconnect the trunk lid hydraulic struts when bolting it up?

My thought here is that leaving the struts attached to the hinges while fitting the hinges may be bending the trunk lid upward and that gets magnified as you try to close it. I've attached a link to Robert DIY YouTube video on fitting new hydraulic struts safely and removing old ones so you don't get scarred like he did one time!
