Reduced Engine Performance!

Post by AlanS »

2006 XC70 . Several weeks ago the dash displayed Reduced Engine Performance light. Friend hooked up an OBD...read 9400- Accerator Pedal Sensor. Replaced it. Ran fine for three weeks....this morning Reduced Engine Performance light (NO CEL) again. Put code reader on it: 9400, 94D and 614B. Any help you all can offer? I'm great at wrenching, but lousy at diagnosis. Thanks.

Look in the fuse box in the engine bay for the Accelerator pedal/AC and see if it is blown.

If not could be an issue with the brake pedal switch, I've heard it can affect it.

Curiously one of your codes is related to exhaust cam which is a big red flag to me. Either you jumped a tooth or your vvt solenoid is broken.

Thank you...let me look into this further. New development for dx: It seems to happen in the cold weather. Dash warning goes on, I let it warm up...turn key off....dash info turns off, car runs fine! Does that help in figuring this out?
