Reporting Facts Matter

Even the Weather Channel will falsely sensationalize what they report. Here, if one looks carefully at the entire video, the animal has injured its left foot, yet they use it to sensationalize a certain behavior.

Hey I agree with you, facts matter and are often abused and/or ignored in the media! But in the spirit of you post, IMO ...

"Even" The Weather Channel??? When TWC sensationalizes something, the surprise factor should be zero. Or negative something. The entire premise of TWC is to sensationalize the natural world, as clickbait. That's their business model. If you're looking for sober, thoughtful reporting I wouldn't recommend TWC. Use their numbers sure, but don't bother with any content.

On a 1 to 10 scale for "reporting factness" (1 is least) I rate this statement maybe a 4, like as "a reasonable opinion." Not saying you're wrong, just that the evidence is minimal. IMO!

I guess so much of our media is sensationalizing false reporting you expect TWC to be immune from that. I do have TWC as one of the Home tabs and don't view many videos but do see climate related agenda in their reporting. We don't need to get into that here however.

As on a scale of 1 to 10 I say about an 8 if you watch carefully but still 10 for me. Had lots of dogs when I was young and love animal videos. In the late 80's while living in Berkeley had a beautiful pup that broke his hip running under the fence and hit by a car. Neighbor brought him back. Fixed the fence and locked it but someone climbed it and stole him :( .

If you watch closely at the beginning the left foot is none responsive although it does set it down. Even along the concrete fence you can tell the left is injured. At 0:20 when it comes down it's on all 3 as it hobbles then moves along. Definitely in pain and protecting it. Though 2017 old and on sale for $299 at Costco back in the day, the Omen 32 with 2560 x 1440 does help with the minutia's of the blurry video.

I've noticed the radar maps will use different colors for a storm depending on who is reporting. Some make it look worse than it is. Tuesday morning this is the radar I was looking at as the storm was approaching my house in Indiana. I was in Missouri and drove back to make sure the Indiana place still had a roof. All is OK. Evansville north side had serious wind or tornado damage. NWS.gov is a good source for accurate reporting.
