92' Volvo 240 GL Sedan, auto, for sale, SOLD

Post by 850 LPT »

For sale is our 92' Volvo 240 GL sedan, auto, white with blue interior. The odometer shows 183k, but it has more on it due to a previously faulty odometer gear. How much more I do not know.
It has some options that you don't see often in a 240, such as a factory sunroof, heated power mirrors and heated seats.

The car is completely rust free, I was told by the PO that it spend most of it's life in CA and I have no reason to doubt it. The body is pretty straight with the exception of a minor dent in the rear pass. door above the trim. Not super noticeable but hopefully you can make it out in the photo.
The interior is really nice but not perfect. Everything works except for the illumination in the center console switches.

It drives beautifully and shifts great. We had absolutely no problems with this 240 and enjoyed it very much. It is very dependable.

The following parts have been replaced during my ownership:

new IPD SS exhaust
new SS header pipe
new IAC valve
new EGR control valve
new Valve cover gasket
new Akebono brake pads front and rear
new TYC headlights
new IPD 1” wheel spacers installed with Helium rims and Pirelli 206/55/16 tires.
new interior light door switches
new Pioneer rear deck speakers
new instrument bulbs
new ODO gear
new Hella fog/ driving lights
Tune up with Bosch cap, Bougicord cables, existing Rotor polished, new Mann air filter.

The front brakes had just been replaced prior to my ownership, which is why I just replaced the pads with low dust ones. I was going to replace the rear rotors as well, but I discovered that the ones on the car were still very good. New OEM rotors are included with the sale.
Same is true for the spark plugs, and a new set is included.

Oil changes have been done at 3500 mile intervals with Castrol 10w30 HM synth. blend and Mann filters.
The CEL is on for a faulty EGR temp sensor. I have not been successful sourcing one, otherwise this would be corrected by now. This would be up to the new owner.

Asking price is $6300

I know 240 Volvos. This one is exceptional. Only thing I see missing is the original strap for the spare tire.

Thanks for pointing that out. But also, the front door pockets are missing too, I forgot to mention that.

Thanks Neil, we really are sad, but we need to start downsizing out fleet. It's gotten a little out of control

Those door pockets always had a hard life. I don't think I have any good ones. But the doors look presentable without the pockets.
What is really nice about this car is it has been protected from sun fade.
$6300 for a car with good looks, nice ride, good seats, up to date service, and expected life of another 100-150 K miles. What new car could you buy for this?

Yep, we kicked our door pockets off at some point too.

I have a friend here with almost the identical car, 4-door, in white, but his is a manual. Bought it new in CT. But NOWHERE NEAR the condition of this one.

Just a thought - isn't this a BaT-caliber car? I know it takes a while to get through their screening system and get it listed.
