I've got a headlight out on my 04 V70R. The car has been sitting for some time and had moisture in the headlamp, so I've been getting it dried out and hopefully sealed. The main headlight is out, but I'm wondering if there is any way to tell if it's the bulb, the ignitor or the ballast?
Most of the prices I see are out of my range, but there seem to be lots of replacement options on Ebay. I've never worked on this kind of light setup, so it's all new to me. Any way to test the parts with a multimeter to narrow this down?
Headlight out- Options?

Test the bulb with a multimeter and see if it has continuity. That should eliminate the bulb as the issue.
Again, test there is power to the headlight harness into the headlight. If there is, then plug the harness into the headlight unit and then test the connector onto the bulb connector for power.
You will have to look up the wiring harness. It is out there on the internet.
Neil.

Well, this just gets more confusing. It started out with a wet headlight and the headlight was out. DTRL's were working. I tested the bulb then the power to the ignitor which showed no voltage. I ordered a new bulb which didn't work. Now all of a sudden I have both headlights on in both the on and off switch positions, but no DTRL's in any position. Baffled.

Do your headlights change with the dip/full beam on the stalk?
If that works ok, then maybe it is a bad ground or light switch.
Neil.
