S80 Headlight Disassembly
I have a 2010 S80 that I hit a deer in recently, its all fixed but the headlights. Both lenses are broken but otherwise alright. I got a pair of headlights that have different internals but intact lenses. Is there a way to disassemble the headlights? They appear to be glued together. I'm also looking at swapping out the internals but that looks impossible without taking the lenses out too.

I don't have any 1st hand experience with S80 headlights... perhaps something in here would help you search.php?keywords=headlight+lens&term ... mit=Search

There are several Youtube videos that walk one through baking the headlight assembly in the oven at low temp for a few minutes, and then prying apart the lens from the main assembly. Clearly, this is something to do with your significant other is away for a few hours, as putting car parts in the oven is grounds for divorce in 28 states, and a basis for justifiable homicide in 7 states.
But you likely want to order a roll of replacement butyl sealant (or a tube of silicone caulking) to do a good job of sealing up the lens to the assembly, cleaning out all the old gunk, which is 90% of the labor in this task.

2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!
