Too hot/cold operate top 2012 C70

Post by mmpeterson1850 »

Hi there! I just purchased a 2012 c70 and loving it! However, it has been giving me a message sometimes saying it is too hot or too cold to operate the top. This was troubling yesterday as it was down and I do not live in a place where I can just wait for it to change it's mind and let me put it back up. It seems pretty random when it will throw this message. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it promptly goes away when I try again, sometimes I have to come back after a few minutes and it will allow me to put it back up or down. I try hitting the reset info button. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. Also, I do not believe it is actually too hot or too cold haha. It's fall here and still t shirt weather during the day. Any advice on what to do about this? There are not many people in my area that will look at these convertible tops.

Thanks!

Signs of failing hydraulic rams. I've never seen a fix or anyone taking one apart to repair it. There are several of them fitted and super expensive. The trick is to work out which one is causing the issue.

In Activations with Vida you may be able to drive certain sections individually; worth a try.

I also encountered the same error as you, but I handled it your way but it still didn't work. Can you give me another way? Please help me!

Damn! I thought it might be the sensor since I have seen some posts about that. How did you come to that conclusion out of curiosity?
