New to Volvos and have a question regarding a whining/whirring sound upon acceleration. It reminds of a power steering pump noise when its low on fluid. I believe these are electric steering? Is it the supercharger or turbo? It seems louder when cold and diminishes as I drive. Is this normal for the T6 engine?
Thanks,
Dirk

I don't have a T6 (mine's a T5) but I remember when test driving a T6 that there was a definite supercharger whine when compared to the turbo only T5. T6 owners can probably be more definitive though.

Well, I have the same whine on a 2020 XC90 T6 and wondering if you took yours to the shop to have it looked at. Reason why I didn't with mine is that the whine itself is pretty low key and un-noticeable unless music, AC are off and it's a very quiet night. So yes, there is a whine and you can hear it if paying attention, but guessing it shouldn't be too noticeable?
What was the outcome on yours?
Cheers, Mike
