A/C Compressor

I tried my a/c today and the compressor didn't go on. The manual says that if there's a problem with the a/c, then the button to turn on the a/c will flash. It doesn't.
Does anyone know what could cause this? My check engine light is on
with 2 codes : P0015 (Timing over retarded) and P0128. Could any of these have anything to do with this?

P0128 indicates a faulty engine thermostat. This could affect the AC.

Found the problem. Went to my local garage and he topped up the freon and the compressor started to work. Very happy.
