Noise when accelerating.

Hi, my wife has an 04 2,4 170hp.


A wierd noise started happening when accelerating. This happens in all gears ( 5 Speed manual ) at 2000rpm.

Noise sounds a bit like an exhaust leak but i verified that isn't the case here.

Locating the noise tells me it isn't on the left side of the motor, i hear it more clearly on the right side.

Timing belt side ?
Thts always a concern , i'd remove the belt top cover and watch the belt on the pulleys, see if its wandering.
And remove the serpentine belt to see if the noise goes away.
