Found My Old Laptop with VIDA 2014D – What a Game Changer!
Hey everyone,
While going through my storage last week, I came across an old laptop running Windows 7 Pro. To my surprise, it still had VIDA 2014D installed. Using VIDA and a few helpful video tutorials, I was finally able to knock out some much-needed maintenance on my Volvo.
Here’s what I replaced:
• Coolant Pump
• Accessory Belt
• Belt Tensioner
• Idler Pulley
• Decoupler Pulley and Seal
• Thermostat
• Upper Radiator Hose
• Lower Radiator Hose
• Vacuum Pump Repair Kit
Heater Core
• Intake Manifold Gasket
I have to say, removing and installing these parts took a lot more than a Coke and a smile. Since the car is pretty old, many of the connectors and plastic clips were brittle, so I had to work slowly and carefully to avoid breaking anything.
Having VIDA up and running again was a huge help. It provided me with the torque specs, diagrams, and part numbers I needed without requiring any guesswork. If you've an old Windows 7 laptop lying around, it might be worth trying to get VIDA 2014D up and running.
A full write-up will follow, although I won’t be recreating everything in words since I didn’t take any photos while doing the work.
After a few challenging days, I’m happy to say my old SUV is running smoothly and quietly again.
If you’re replacing the Water Pump, Accessory Belt, Tensioner, Idler Pulley, Decoupler Pulley, Seal, Thermostat, Heater Core or Hoses on your Volvo XC90, I might be able to help.
Cheers!
