Lowering the rear of 97 855 GLT

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Lowering the rear of 97 855 GLT

Post by HareBall »

I want to lower the rear of my 855 to level it with the front. All the kits I see are for lowering both front and rear. I wouldn't mind lowering both if I could get the rear level with the front.
Anyone know where to get what I need? I don't haul any weight to amount to anything, so I am not worried about losing load capacity.

I cut the rear springs on my 850 sedan before I cut the front springs just to get the same thing you are looking for. I cut about one and a half coils. I used a cutting disk that can be used in a 3/8 drill, that and a vise to hold the spring worked just fine.
Lowing the rear of the car will slightly reduce the weight transfer to the front under hard turning, making it turn better.
