We recently had a poster scammed of 100 EU on a parts sale by someone registering here, arranging to buy a part, taking payment, and vanishing.
For now, I would suggest that one not respond to PM requests to close deals but make posts public, verify IP (we can help with that) or just buy from people 'known to MVS' (we can also help here)
We can act as information brokers to force people to ID themselves if they want to do business here without having a presence.
Be aware of anyone requesting payment in Potato Bitcoin from IA.

Potato Bitcoin is best served deep fried!
It is really disappointing that where ever you do business these days there is always some scumbag wanting to rip you off.
I have only once in all of 20? or so years on MVS ever had an issue with payment on on item that was sold on sale pending fitting to confirm it was good (it was a 98 V/C unit so not easy to test). At least the shipping was paid for in advance, but no idea if it was ever fitted or tested and after a while I forgot about it until this came up!
I've let that one slide, but otherwise, all others have been good upstanding MVS'ers and been true to their word.
Neil.
