1991 740 Turbo Wagon water pump leak

I replaced the water pump in my '91 740 Turbo Wagon yesterday and have a leak today. There is a pipe that fits into the back of the pump and has a little, rubber O-ring, for lack of another word, though it's flat. This ring looks to have been skewed when the pump was put in and this is where the leak is. Is there any way to fix that without taking the pump, and everything else, off? There is a little flange on the pipe that fastens to the pump with a nut and bolt, if I remove this bolt, will there be enough play to back that pipe out and fix the the ring?
