Is it good idea to reset computer?

Quick question - when you replace an O2 or MAF sensor is it necessary or a good idea to unplug the battery to reset the computer? I've got a 94 850 turbo. Thanks.

Yes, it's a great idea....the car really needs to "learn" how things are with these new parts. That is of course unless you are going for inspection soon. Resetting the ECU like this means that you have to drive several hundred miles (unless you do a pre-prescribed readiness test that Volvo has on their website- it's a pain btw) before the adaptives read that they are ready with a scanner that the inspection places use.
