How do I adjust the E-Break on my 2002 S60 2.4T AWD? I reviewed the proceedure for other Volvo models but I didn't see an adjustment slot on my rotor.
Also, when the parking breaks wear out is there any audible indicator like squeeking or grinding?

It's all done at the handbrake lever:

Bill.

Only if you drive with the e-brake applied - not recommended. Also, when the parking breaks wear out is there any audible indicator like squeeking or grinding?

If the e-brake cable became excessivly loose, would that cause any squeeking or griding from the brake shoes?
How would I know if the brake cable broke. I do have very limited e-brake capability and it may only be coming from one side - not sure.
Thanks for your expert advice

The e-brake shoes are held away from the brake drum by two really strong springs so that if the cable was loose, no matter how much, the shoes would not touch the drum. Therefore, no noise.
To check the cables have someone operate the brake lever while you watch for movement of the linkages behind the rear wheels. If one of the cables has snapped there will be no movement of the linkage for that cable. To do this check it should not be necessary to jack up the vehicle. You should be able to see by lying on the ground at the rear of the car. If you do jack up the vehicle, support it on axle stands before going underneath.
