light failure sensor, 1988 240 DL

Post by mjanetaylor »

My 1988 240 DL is having electrical problems. First the #16 fuse was blowing every time I turned on the headlights. (This fuse is for the passenger side parking and tail light and the instrument panel light.) I let a friend work on it; he disconnected a wire from this fuse and it stopped blowing, but now the devices associated with the #15 fuse won't work (the driver's side brake light and the license plate lights). I took it to a shop and they tell me I need a new light failure sensor. What is this, where is it, and is it easy for me to replace myself? Thanks, Jane.
