i have a 1990 240 with 151000 miles it has been regularly maintained, new timing belt (that kinda stuff)
the car has been running great untill last night.
the fuel gauge has been broken the entire time i have owned it (i am the 2nd owner) so my girlfriend and i rely on the trip counter/odometer for refueling.
we had a miss communication and i think i ran the tank dry last night.
new gas has been added today and the car will start and idle roughly.
when throtle is applied, in neutral, the car will accelerate to about 1500-2000 rpm then start to stutter heavily.
i initially thought that bottom of the tank gunk may have cloged up the injectors or one or both of the fuel filters.
i am reasonablly mechanically inclined and plan to try to solve this situation without having to tow the car to the shop.
i was perhaps planning on working on the sending unit or try to diagnose what is wrong with the fuel gauge while i am getting gassy
any reply is appreciated,
thanks in advance!
