Had a weird thing happen the other morning. My '99 S80 T6 was stuck in park and would not allow me to move the shift lever (yes, I know all about the brake pedal interlock, and yes I had the brake depressed) for a LONG time. It wasn't until I moved the wheels with the steering wheel that it finally allowed me to move it. And it moved normally once it moved. Now, it WAS very cold out, about 6 degrees F, and this was the first time I had ever had it out overnight in that cold of temperatures, as normally it is in its garage but that night I was visiting a friend and left it out.
Any ideas?

Sounds like contacts not contacting in the PNP switch. This senses the position of the gear lever. It's made worse by the extreme cold -- metal and most other solids contract, thus maiking a gap where there was electrical contact.
Run the lever from P to 3 fifteen to twenty times to help clean the contacts.
