I have a 2004 S-60 2.5T and my drivers side headlamp is burned out. I get the message for the low beam lamp burned out (as is normal).
I ordered a new lamp (D2R), and replaced it. The old one was definitely toast-the center conductor was broken and the exterior electrode was also detached and broken.
Problem: The light still doesn't work, even after replacing the (VERY EXPENSIVE) bulb!! I'm thinking maybe the ballast is bad(?). If so, what is the procedure to replace it? I noticed that there is a high voltage warning placard above the headlight area, and I'm hesitant to start screwing around with the ballast until I know I'm not going to fry the electrical system.....
Any help or advice would be appreciated. OBTW: Great forum! Very informative and helpful, Matthew.........
Thanks in advance
