96 850 windscreen wiper dilemma

Post by mistercrunch »

Hi all,

With the recent bouts of rain I've noticed the driver's side wiper doesn't work effectively. The blade is completely off the glass at the end of the wipe. Tried swapping blades, generic and Volvo ones, problem persists. I suspect my mechanic mixed up the two wiper arms. Can anyone tell me which one is driver's side and which is passengers side? The one is slightly longer and has a smaller 'S' bend, the other the 'S' is more pronounced and the blade arm is a bit shorter. Thanks! Oh, by the way it's a right hand drive car, but that shouldn't make a difference, just mirror imaged. Thanks!

Pieter
