Mystery noise inside my 94 850 wagon

Post by stone36 »

Hey all,
This has been driving me nuts for at least a year now, but I keep thinking that during repairs along the way I will find it.

I have a mytery noise inside the car that sounds like a golf ball rolling around inside the car when I take corners. I doesn't happen on every turn, but it probably happens every day. I can hear whatever it is going from the far left to he far right and back again (maybe because of political season). I am sure it is a small mut or bolt but I can't figure out where to even start looking to remove it, it wouldn'd be under the carpet as that would restrict movement. My only guess is I replaced the standard armrest lid with a later model one with cup holders and maybe a backing bolt fell down? (honestly the brilliant guy who decided the 94's didn't need a cup holder other than the glove box... ) If seomthing fell under that center console could it roll around like that? Thanks for the help

Geez after all that trouble...I hope they were at least PRO V1's. I guess I better watch where my golf balls are going, even in the car.

Not sure I understood how they got there?

Can someone explain because if this occurred to me I think it would drive me over the f$@#$ edge.

There's a heater vent outlet nozzle under each front seat for the rear seating area. The plastic nozzles that attach to the pipe under the floorboards falls off and stuff gets in there and rolls around in the floorboard area.

I used to have someone drive the car and take some turns while I stuck my hand in between the pipe and the floorboard opening and catch the golf ball, or whatever as it roll around.

Sorry to semi-resurrect this post but I can definitely attest to this. Happened to be a Top Flight, which made me feel like leaving it in there

Those nozzles are black holes when the plastic vent comes off.
