97 t5, wouldnt start, turbo ?

my t5 barely started today, when it did i drove it home but it had major stutter. check engine light came on. wouldnt start for about an hour, at first i was low on oil, then i filled it up, i thought it was due to that (2.5 quarts) now i turned it on and left it idle, but same prob and now the turbo is not kicking in, the gauge does not go past half. any ideas ? is my turbo blown ? i was plannin in driving it back home this coming weekend (500 miles)

You need to get that code read and see what is wrong.
