Accessing Rear Shocks, 1999, C70 Convertable

Post by owenmpk »

Hello All
Do any of you know how to access the tops of the rear shocks on a 1999 C70 Convertable. I have tried the trunk and the removing the innner fender liners, so am thinking removing the seats but would like to know before i move foward.
THanks
Owen K

No need to remove the seats...just tilt them forward and then access the front edge of the carpet under them. The diagram below should help. Be aware that there are two types. The old type had a plastic piece over the strut mounts, the newer carpet that has to be cut.

Hey MIJ, are you sure those instructions are for a coupe?

I believe you may need to remove the rear seats to access the top of the struts, but I can't remember exactly.

They are for a coupe. I couldn't find the instructions for a convertible. I would think they would be the same but I could be wrong.

That may answer my question. I may be thinking about the convertible.

Thanks,
