Hello, this holiday weekend I pulled the glove box out of the dash to get a look at the keyless remote "black" box. The only box that I saw was located on the right hand side of the glove box, mounted vertically. It had an fcc warning on it, a barcode with a big A over it, and these numbers...207813 was on a sticker, and WG1G114B 503AB2A was below the bar code. I have a picture of the black box, but I dont know how to put a picture on my post.
My question is does anyone know which of these numbers I need to match up on the back of the remote key fobs?
Thanks, Alan

The numbers that you were looking for is the smaller number to the left of the sticker. The CWTTFWBIG FCC number and the part number 9148645.
You need the CWTTFWBIG FCC Code / 9148646 Part number remote. Don't buy one unless you can verify that the remote fob has those numbers.

No, Lee is right...the corresponding remote is one number greater than the actual receiver.

If they were the same part number the overpriced rube at the stealership wouldn't have any idea what to overcharge you for!

Hi I too have an 96 850 that I believe was fitted with an optional basic alarm, that someone has disabled.
I see that to recognise the receiver ones needs to remove glovebox which is the reason behind this post.
Can someone point me in the right direction on how this is done, Ive removed the torx screws that holds the glovebox and that is as far as I can get.
Help

The only thing that you have left to do is to remove the arms that support the glove box door. If you look next to the arms where they meet the door you will see two small holes. Simply insert a small screwdriver into those holes to release the arms.

Once the arms are released the glove box should slide out. It will fight you just a bit until it clears the latch brace.

Hey, I've read a few articles that make it sound like you can program any Volvo remote for your model number to your car by a combination of turning off and on the ignition to position 2, 5 times and clicking the remote. This sounds too easy - do I need to first make sure the remote matches the car by the numbers listed above? Thanks guys.
