At elast that is what I think the kid with the OBII said it was. My check engine light came on this weekend in Ellensburg while I had it idliing to warm up. I had about 6 inches of snow covering the whole car, so I just figured it had something to do with that and it would go off. It was still on the next day when I got back home to 57 and raining. The kid at Schuck's reset it and it hasn't come back on.
Do those lights always need to be reset and if you reset it and it stays off, does that mean the problem is fixed? The car never skipped a beat.

Some do but others don't. If it's reset and doesn't come back on, count yourself lucky. Maybe the air was restricted with all the snow on it.

CE light isn't always trouble. Many things can cause it, from an injector harness being loose to washing the engine at a car wash (not recommended). Mine came on a few weeks ago after a Motorvac treatment.
After popping the harness back on properly, and a drive cycle*, the light went out.
And then there are the non-trivial triggers for this light, like a toasted O2 sensor (code 2-1-2). The light will not go out until you change the sensor.
* a certain number of miles or minutes spent driving. I've ridden out two drive cycles, and each took around 50 miles and two days.
