Can I drive 91 740 GL with instrument cluster removed?

Post by magoo »

Hi all, this is my first post here.

I need to removed the instrument cluster from my 740 to drop it off for repairs. Would there be any dramas if I drove the car for a couple of days while the cluster was removed? Besides obviously the gauges not working, etc.

Thanks.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

Technically there is no reason why you can't drive without the instrument cluster.

Legally it would probably be an offence under Road Traffic laws. It certainly is in the UK.

Thanks Bill.

I should be able to get away without driving it for a couple or few days. I figured it was worth asking though - I don't know about anyone else, but the minute I pull one car apart the other car is likely to play up. They must know something.

Cheers,
Shane
