1995 850 Mystery Connectors After Engine Replacement

1995 Volvo 850 with 220K miles
I'm not good with image usage.
I have over the last year replaced the dead engine in my '95 850GLT with one from a salvage yard (a '97). I have two connectors left over. Three really, but one is vehicle speed and I know where that one goes. The first one is a two conductor that I believe to belong in the area of the throttle body or vacuum tree, due to the location of its branch from the main harness. Its wires are Green/Yellow and Brown(Maybe Violet)/Black.

The other has two conductors , Black/White and Blue/Brown, but has no pins, but a flat contact like a clip. It goes in the vicinity of the battery tray or air bix, and my tape tag on it said only "Clip under bt" Which I assume to mean battery tray.

Can someone identify these? I am unable to find it in the shameful wire diagrams from the Haynes manual.

Ken,

I'm guessing that the Green/Yellow - Brown/Black connector goes to the EGR temperature sensor. It has the correct pairing of wire colors and it looks to be in the right place.

I can't find a pairing of wires that matches the second sensor but it looks to me like it is a temperature sensor. Based on its location I would make a guess that it is an intake air temperature sensor that would plug into either the intake air box or into the intake air snorkel. I know that intake air temperature is an input to the ECU but I can't find the sensor on the schematics.

I think that the second picture shows the cable being plugged into whatever the final device is. I don't think that the flat end actually electrically plugs into another device.

It appears that the device has a part number but it is obscured by the connector itself. Push the metal release tab and remove the device from the connector. If you get the number off of it I might be able to cross reference it through VADIS.

Upon disconnecting the connector, I found it to have no pins, only a plastic hole. I believe it to be a placeholder/dustcap in the harness for something I must not have. I also believe "Clip under bt" to mean clip it out if the way.
What is a 6849786 1 PA6?

EGR Temp sensor also makes sense as a leftover connector. The '97 engine I put in has the EGR Valve on the exhaust side, not under the vacuum stuff. I ran the vacuum line from the EGR Valve on the backside to the EGR controller, but I don't remember an electrical connector back there. Is that sensor a thermistor, RTD or T/C?

I couldn't find that part number (6849786) in VADIS but I don't know of a way to search things by part number, I can only find them if I know what system it is associated with. A call to a dealership parts department might get you an answer. I'm guessing that you don't need it anyway.

The EGR temperature curve looks like a thermistor. There is a graph in VADIS but I can't get it to print. It is on a Semi-log scale with the following data points.

Thanks for the help. Took her out on the road today for the first time since the transplant. No codes on my snazzy new scan tool I got for Christmas and the fuel system is in closed loop operation. I'll get in behind it with a mirror and look for a connector. I'll examine the dead engine sensor. Thanks a bunch for the data transcription, I know that's kind of a pain.
