2000 classic v70 xt lpt. Tyre pressures

Post by ratfink_v70_2000 »

Hi,
Volvo recommend 32 psi under normal load for tyre pressures however I,m running Vredestein sportrac 3 all round and on the Vredestein site they recommend 46 psi. Who's right Volvo or tyre manufacturer? I've tried at both settings. Any input. Cheers Rich.

I would not be so inclined to stick strictly with what either the tire manufacturer or Volvo says. Any pressure between 32 and 41 and what is comfortable for you is fine. Of course, the more pressure, the firmer and thus more jarring the ride would be.

Hi, yeah that's what I thought. The lower pressure does feel soft in the bends, very fast twisty roads here in Scotland UK, while as you say 46 psi has made the ride harsh.
Cheers for reply.

I doubt it. That is the HIGHEST amount of air you can put in.
You out in what you like best which should be between 32 and 38 or so.
I don't know ANY passenger car that would work with 45 lbs, read again

If they tires are the exact same size /width then I'd go with Volvo's suggested tire pressure.
