HELP! '90 740 Turbo stalls when you put it in drive or rev.

My friend's '90 740 Turbo Automatic stalls when he puts it into drive. He said it idles fine and revs fine in neutral, but if he tries to put it in D or R it stalls out. Cranks back up though in N or P.

Anyone know what this could be?

What is the idle like? If it is slow and not using the accellerator, possible the ISM is not clean. Idle speed motor. Also check for hoses loose as this can change the fuel air mix. Turbos do go through hoses and leakage or a torn hose can also cause this. Air mass meter is another possibility.

First check the turbo hoses.
