How do you clean/test an idle air valve/speed motor? 89 740

Hi again, how do I go about cleaning the idle air valve? I've seen it called an idle speed motor also. Bosch part# 0 280 140 520. I would also like to test mine to see that it is functioning properly. Thanks in advance.

You can take it off and use some carb cleaner. WD-40 will also clean it. Doesn't always help, but worth a try.

I sprayed mine with carb cleaner then then I oiled it lightly with 3 in one.
