1986 240 transmission swap

Post by vcolper »

I'm planning on replacing the transmission from a 1986 240 with one of a 1987 740. Are they direct replacements? What are the differences if any?

Thanks,

Vic

There may be tailshaft differences and the 740 uses an electronic speed sensor from the differential. Not sure of all the differences.

I answered this in your other thread. Best info is that the boxes are different designation and manufacturer. They may be compatible but may not.
