2001 XC 70 Turbo leaking oil

I have jsut been told that my Turbo seal is gone on my XC70 turbo. Although it is a big job they say that it is not to costly to replace. I am just worried though as i will be replacing this in the next week or two but i do alot of driving. Will this damage the engine/turbo ? Is this leaking turbo a more serious problem that i realise?

I would get a 2nd opinion unless you know the mechanic and implicitly trust him. It could be as simple as a turbo return line. Not very many turbos bite the dust, especially something that is only 7 years old ('01) although it is possible. Depending on price it might be cheaper just to swap out the turbo if it truly needs replacing/rebuilding. Let us know.
