940 1995 "clicking" sound???
I have a 1995 940 turbo with an automatic transmission.....and ever since I had the front brakes replaced, I hear a clicking sound when I press on the brakes! It sounds like a relay and it's sounds like it's coming from just beneath the transmission shifter in the middle of the console! Has this ever happened to you?....and how do I get to the rely to fix it or replace it? It's not effecting the performance of the car or the brakes.....just annoying!

I think its the shifter interlock solenoid then.
You can't put it in drive unless you first put your foot on the brake, its a safety feature.
The day you don't hear the click you won't be able to move the shifter.

I think when the tranny is in drive the solenoid shouldn't be activated by the brake, so maybe the microswitch is out of adjustment.

There are no dash board lights that come on or stay on.....all the break lights are working just fine. I'm sure the clicking noise is coming from some relay switch located in the shifting console. I just haven't taken the time to take the plastic pieces apart that cover the middle console to check it out.
