Spongy brakes after bleeding - 2001 V70 XC

Spongy brakes after bleeding - 2001 V70 XC

I have just replaced all the brake pads on my 2001 V70 XC and replaced the brake fluid and bled the brakes. I have used a synthetic, valvoline.DOT 4 brake fluid. I've just tested the car and the brakes feel spongy. Feels like there is air in the line, even though I bled the brakes correctly. Can anyone give me any ideas as to the problem?
