brake pad warning
brake pad warning
Just had my brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced on my 850R to the tune of $315, American. While I would have done this kind of work myself, I had no way of resurfacing the rotors. So to replace the rotors with new ones and install new pads would have cost me $300. So I bit the bullet and let the local brake shop do it. Anyway, here's the warning: Don't use Raybestos pads on your Volvo! The previous owner of my 850R used Raybestos which let to the rotor getting chunked up and a bad pulsation under anysort of braking. Luckily, the previous owner is a friend of mine so I'll be having some words with him. Also, he tried to resurface the rotors himself (we work in a machine shop) and I'm pretty sure he did it wrong. The rotors (front) had a curious swirl marking on them. So, in hindsight, use OEM stuff!

You can buy brake pads and rotors very cheap at eEuroparts.com. I got good pads and rotors very fast from them and cheap and everything works perfectly. I got for my front brakes PBR deluxe brake pads and Zimmerman rotors for $106 with free shipping and no sales tax.
