I just bought this car and it made a noise from the rear like the wheel was coming off and wobling now it makes a dragging noise like the break pads are rubbing metal to metal on the rotor. I replaced the pads which was not worn and I still have the grinding sound like I need pads so I thought maybe the bearings in the rotor wore out but I can't get the rotor off it's rusted and I don't know which way to turn the nut holding on the rotor clockwise or counterwise. Also the rotor will not turn when the tire is off and jacked up and parking break off. Car has 152,000 miles. Please help.
Thanks

Your problem may be with the parking brake, sounds like the shoes are dragging. The cables under the car rust and it could be that the last time the parking brake was used, then released, the rust is preventing the cables from moving to the released position.
That may be why the wheel will not turn went raised up, of course both rear wheels would need to be off the ground at the same time for one to turn freely.
