Hi all.

On my way to workt this morning my Volvo started idiling very rough, as it the engine is hunting. When i drive the car is fine. When i drove home it did the same thing but also stalled now and then. a message appeared "Emission Service required" on the dash and the engine light came on. Some one said that it could be the idling module pipes that are damaged and is sucking in air. Does anyone know where i need to look for these pipes t see if they are damaged.

You need to get your codes read (autozone or most other auto parts stores will do this for free) and post those numbers up. I suspect the MAF sensor as what your car is doing acts just like one with a bad MAF.

The MAF is attached to the air filter box...inside the round accordion hose that makes its way to the turbo if you have one or to the intake manifold/throttle body if you don't. The ETM that JRL speaks of is the Electronic Throttle Module- what controls the opening and closing of your throttle. This is a dealer item. The codes sure would help.
