exhaust ring?

Post by gameboo »

93' volvo 940 turbo 131000 miles

I have an exhaust ring that is rattling around. It is between the catalytic converter and the engine. The bolt fell out of it, so it just rattles. I don't know what it is supposed to attach to.

The piece is a ring that goes around the exhaust pipe, and has an open end that a bolt goes through to conect the two.

Thanks,

Rich

That sounds like an exhaust clamp which is used to fasten two parts of the exhaust system together.

You need to check the joints between the cat and the engine to see if one of them is clampless. However, looking at VADIS I can't see where such a clamp would fit.

i looked at Vadis too. I couldnt find where it went on there. Also, ive looked on the car. and im really not sure where it goes. It cant fit around the cat converter attachment because it would need to be stretched.
