Had smoke blowing out of oil dipstick tube for a while now, so replaced pcv system.Replaced oil seperator, cleaned hoses, connections and removed flame trap.(badly blocked) Still no improvement and only way to stop oil seeping slowly out of oil filler cap seal is to leave dipstick out slightly to allow engine to breathe (however at times fumes come into car through vents.)
Ive not replaced flame trap yet but would this make any difference to smoking dipstick anyway? Ive noticed that if I disconnect flame trap connection and hold thumb over its end, while engine running, it stops smoke coming out of dipstick tube(mean anything?) There is a smaller hose (vacuum hose?) running alongside larger hose between oil seperator and flame trap and could not be sure this was not blocked but larger hose ok,would this create a problem if also blocked?

Any vacuum hose in the vicinity that is blocked will cause a problem. Also, the PTC nipple (what the 2 hoses connect to at the bottom of the accordion hose from the air filter box) needs to be reamed out and breathing. Your car also needs a new rubber gasket (cheap) at your oil filler cap to seal it tight to keep the oil from seeping out.
