2001 V70 won't start - rain
2001 V70 won't start - rain
My car wouldn't start last night in the rain. It's sunny today and I have the hood open so the engine can dry out. The battery sounds find and the car seems like it almost will start. What else can I do? I have a basic tool set but am not mechanically inclined with cars. I really need the car to start today. Thanks!

Numerous things can cause this to happen.
What comes to mind is a fuel pump relay or electrical glitches from the moisture. Can you get your trouble codes read via the OBD-II port?
Most auto parts stores will "lend" you their scan tool for a refundable deposit.

Is there water in the engine compartment? If so, you can accelerate the drying process by using a hair dryer. Just keep moving it around so you don't focus too much heat in any one area
