'91 940 hose disconnected on this object

I was checking the air intake when I found a hose off the intake and leading to this black object loosened.
Looks like it has a T-joint connected to a smaller hose

Can anyone tell me what is that object?

My 240 has that same hose too...it's part of the flame trap. Pull the hose back off and then the hoses attached to the engine (under it that it was attached to) all the way out...you'll find a plastic disc inside of the lower hose that has little pin holes in it...make sure they are all clear and you can blow through them. They were probably clogged causing positive pressure (as in PCV system or Positive Crankcase Ventilation system) which caused that upper hose to come off.
