VOLVO FIRE S60 2005

I wanted to bring to the Forum's notice the terrible experience I had on Friday 17th Oct 2008. First of all I want to say that I absolutely loved my S60 and have never previously had a problem with it. What happened though was that a fire had started and no warnings were given until the fire had taken hold under my car and the brakes failed. I was travelling on a busy motorway (M1) in the UK and for once I am thankful I was having to go slow because of the heavy traffic. I did manage to get the car on to the hard shoulder and wait for it to stop. At that point the fire engulfed the car wrapping itself around the driver and passenger door and I only just managed to get out. Like the lady described on the link above I didn't even have time to grab my purse. I will be very interested to see what Volvo have to say when I report this. The car was less than 3 years old (just) and only had 35,000 on the clock.

Wow! I'm so sorry for your loss. Glad you got out of this one alive.
Is Volvo taking ownership of this problem?
