Model: 960 sedan
Mileage: 66,000
Recently a small red circle light has been lighting up on the dashboard. It is to the LEFT of the digital outside temperature display. I have reviewed the owner's manual and it is not shown.
This started coming on recently when I start the car in the morning. It turns off after about 10-15 minutes of driving.
I recently had my timing belt and serpentine belt changed, coolant flushed, and an oil change. The car is running better than ever.
Does anyone know what that light indicates?
Need meaning of small red light on dashboard of 960

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
There is a small amber light to the left of the ambient temp gauge. Could it be this? How cold is it in the morning where you are?

Bill.1 Ambient temperature indicator (certain models)
Indicates the temperature slightly above the surface of the road. An amber warning lamp lights up when the temperature is in the range of 23-36° F (-5 - + 2° C). At low speeds or when the car is not moving, the temperature readings may be slightly higher than the actual ambient temperature due to heat generated by the engine.

That must be it! It's only been coming on recently, and it comes on in the morning when it's really cold outside. For example, it came on today and it was 33 degrees F outside.
Thanks! Glad to know it's not any sort of a warning, other than to wear a hat and gloves and turn on my seat heater!

And to be wary of icy patches on the road. In the UK we have had temps about yours but we have also had snow in parts of the country that have not had snow in October since 1934. So much for 'Global Warming'.Thanks! Glad to know it's not any sort of a warning, other than to wear a hat and gloves and turn on my seat heater!
Bill.
