I think this is a great addition to the forum - and hopefully it will help those in the local area to consider Fields Volvo of Waukesha for repairs.
For a brief review of the 1994 - 850 Volvo wagon that we own, we bought it used with 217K miles on it. The previous owner had all the documentation for the work that was done to it and according to this documentation, the timing belt change was due.
Rather than attempt to do it myself, I took it in to one of the two surrounding dealers to have it professionally done.
While I was waiting there while they inspected it (first time there), I expected to hear that it needed more work. This was not the case. The adviser kept me posted on the status of the belt change and noted that a tensioner was needed too. All work was done in less than 4 hours and the total cost was less than $650.00 - which to me was a deal, considering it will be more than $1000 for a timing belt change on the PT Cruiser that we own.
Fields Volvo of Waukesha - great service and I will go back for any major work that I cannot do. I give it a "10" out of "10".
Steve
As for the service that was received by the dealer, it was a "ten" out of "ten" for the first visit there in December 2007 to have the timing belt changed (223,000 miles on it when they did it, 115,000 miles from the previous change according to the paperwork from the previous owner).
