Hi guys! I own a 1995 Volvo 940 (non-turbo) wagon. I've had a little problem for a while now but it's starting to get on my nerves .. When I turn on the fan for the inside climate controls, I hear this little clicking coming from what sounds like inside the airvents. The clicking will vary depending on the speed .. i.e. speed 1 - no clicking, speed 2-3 clicking, speed 4-5 no clicking. And sometimes no clicking at all on all speeds!!
To me this sounds like the blades from the blower,... but I'm not sure. And I don't know how to get to them to check!
This must be the easiest Volvo heater blower motor to access. The designer who does nothing but add complications must have had a headache the day this one was made.
Disconnect the battery negative lead ensuring, beforehand, that you have the radio code.
Remove the glove compartment - 4 screws.
Remove the panel under the glove compartment - 3 clips.
You are now looking at the blower motor. Disconnect the blower motor connector. Remove the blower motor locking screw and take out the blower motor.
