Hi,
I have V70 made in 2003 FWD, 2.4 L. Manufactured in Belgium, bought in Canada. Mileage: 89 000 kilometers (aprox. 60 000 miles).
The problem: every 3-4 weeks engine stops responding on accelerator and then stops while driving or when idle on traffic lights. In 2-3 minutes I can start it back and continue driving for another few weeks as nothing happened. This incident happened 3 times for the past 3 month.
Any ideas what could cause this?

Well, let's start with the basics: fuel, spark and air.
Fuel: have you tried a fuel system/fuel injector cleaner? Have you replaced the fuel filter?
Spark: have you changed and correctly gapped the spark plugs lately?
Air: Have you inspected your air filter/filter housing for debris/clogging?
Codes: Any messages showing up on the dashboard message area?
